My First Financial Planner

GET ON TRACK.

WHY PLAN?

If you’ve ever wondered whether you are making a good financial decision or not, that is why you should plan.

Financial planning, above all else, is about helping you make good financial decisions. This decision-making could be in determining how much to save versus spend, how to prioritize short-term and long-term needs and goals, and a variety of other questions.

At MyFirstFinancialPlanner.com™ we are skilled financial planners, but only you are the expert in you. Only you know what you hope to achieve and what is important to you. Our service is designed to provide you the tools to make good financial decisions for you.

Through our service we will provide recommendations and guidance. And we will answer your financial questions. But we also hope to empower you to make the final determination on what is best for you and use our expertise only as a guide. At MyFirstFinancialPlanner.com™, we believe that our educational system has largely failed to deliver meaningful financial education leaving many individuals lacking basic personal finance knowledge. We aim to change that by helping you get a grip on your financial picture and learn how to pull it all together by developing a plan that assists in the short, mid and long term financial goals.

With our staff of financial professionals, including some that are CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, backed with superior technology you’ll get a true analysis of your financial picture unclouded by commissions or product sales. We are fiduciaries and thus duty bound to put our clients interests first, always.

THE PROCESS

The MyFirstFinancialPlanner.com™ process begins with a short, introductory meeting between you and one of our CFP® professionals. This meeting can be held via telephone, web-conference or in person depending on your preference. This meeting is designed to get to know one another and to decide whether the MFFP service is appropriate for you.

If you decided to engage MyFirstFinancialPlanner.com™ we will ask you to sign a service agreement outlining the details and fee. The charge for the service is $500. For this fee, we will help you get on track with the following steps:

Financial Questionnaire

You will receive an invitation via email to complete our online financial questionnaire. This questionnaire is hosted on a secure partner site protecting your financial information. You are able to complete this questionnaire in one sitting or save your information and complete the information over several sessions.

Once you have completed the questionnaire, you will be given the option to submit the information to MyFirstFinancialPlanner.com™ and we will be notified of your submission.

Please note, the financial planning advice we provide you is directly impacted by the accuracy of information you enter into this questionnaire. We will contact you if a piece of data is clearly incorrect, but we will primarily rely on the accuracy of your data.

Data Entry & Verification

At this point, the data you have entered in the questionnaire is securely sent to our planning software. This is verified manually by one of our professionals.

Financial Plan Preparation

Once your financial information has been entered and verified, we prepare your financial plan. The majority of our time will be spent on portions related to the goals you have indicated in your questionnaire.

Beyond your stated goals, we will review your overall financial situation to include the following:

  • Net Worth
  • Cash flow/budget
  • Debts and liabilities
  • Insurance and risk coverage
  • Retirement planning
  • Estate planning - brief overview

The plan preparation will end with one of our CFP® professionals analyzing the plan and determining a set of recommendations to help you reach your goals and improve your financial well-being.

The recommendations we make will be specific to you, but “product neutral”. These are recommendations you will be able to take with you to implement with any financial services organization you prefer. We would be happy to offer you services within our partner organizations, but you are under no obligation nor pressure to do so.

Our target is to complete your plan analysis within 14 days of your submission.

Plan Delivery & Recommendation Review

Once the plan and recommendations are completed, we will contact you to set up a meeting to deliver your plan and review your recommendations. This is typically done via web-conference or if you are local to our Appleton, WI office, in person. This meeting generally takes 30 minutes.

As a part of this delivery and review process, you will determine which recommendations you are going to work on and whether you would like any of these recommendations to be delegated to us with one of our other service offerings.

Follow Up Review

Approximately 30 days following the plan delivery, we will provide one 15 minute follow up meeting via either a telephone call or web-conference to review your progress, answer questions and confirm that you are now on track.

To get on track and start your plan now, click here and complete the short form.

ABOUT

We'll Help You Get on Track

Fiduciary, independent financial planning has traditionally been limited to only the wealthy.

No longer! At MyFirstFinancialPlanner.com™, we provide financial planning services for people who need it most. For years, the financial planning profession has been derided for not offering advice and services to people who could most benefit; those who earn just enough to pay the bills but don’t seem to be able to save for the future.

We formed MyFirstFinancialPlanner.com™ to deliver advice to these people. Due to both a desire to work with the rest of America and advances in technology that allow us to provide a high level of service with lowered overhead costs, we are able to bring financial planning to you.

My First Financial Planner services were formed for one reason, to deliver financial planning services to a large portion of the population that has been to date mostly ignored by financial planners.

We aim to serve anybody looking for their first financial planner who may not meet the minimum net worth requirements of other financial planning practices; are nervous about taking the first step; or who are just sick and tired of a “sales pitch.”

My First Financial Planner is dedicated to maintain a fiduciary duty to clients by always putting clients’ interests first, above all others.

It is our goal to help you get on track and introduce you to the good side of financial advice.

Conceptual Investment Advisors, Inc (CIAI) was formed in 1994 to assist clients with fee-based financial planning, 401(k) consultation services, project management, and asset based money management. There are many individuals who provide financial advice and financial planning services. Unfortunately, while most of these people are well-intentioned in the work they do, they are held to a commitment to put their employers’ interests first at the expense of clients. Their obligation to clients only requires that they offer advice that is suitable, not advice that is in the best interest of the client.

A fiduciary financial planner has a very different duty. As a fiduciary, this financial planner must put clients’ interests first; ahead of the interests of employer, and of self and family. A fiduciary financial planner remains on the side of the client at all times.

Understanding the distinction between financial planners who must act in your best interest and those who do not is a critical component when selecting a professional.
